The bottle gourd has become a common symbol of good fortune in China. Dried gourds, painted or not, are still easily found today, and make a great gift! Why not try painting one yourself under the guidance of an experienced painter at our next culture workshop!

This workshop includes a 2-hour gourd painting class, guided by an experienced teacher. You’ll practice your design on paper first before painting your gourd.

Chinese Gourd Painting Workshop

Date: Sunday March 10th 2019
Location: CK Culture Centre – Songzhuang, Tongzhou
Pickup: 1pm at Tuanjiehu Subway Station
Drop off: 8pm at Tuanjiehu Subway Station
Price: 388RMB per person/688RMB for 2 people
Payment: Prepayment via WeChat, Alipay, bank transfer or cash at our office

Also included are a tour of Xiaopu Village, located within the Songzhuang Art District, a dumpling dinner, transportation to our centre from Tuanjiehu subway station (line 10), all materials including a gourd and stand, and snacks and tea while you paint! Plus you’ll be able to take home the awesome works of art you created to impress friends and family! All this for only 388RMB or even less if you sign up with a friend!

13:45 – Arrive, have tea and snacks
14:00 – 15:00 – Tour of Xiaopu Art Village
15.00 – 15.30 – Gourd history and culture presentation
15:30 – 17.30 – Chinese gourd painting workshop
18:00 -19.00 – Dinner
19:15 – Head back to the city
20:00 – Arrive Tuanjiehu
