Workshop: Gourd Painting
It’s just a vegetable, you might think. But think again. In traditional Chinese culture, the humble bottle gourd (aka calabash) was and is so much more! Do you know why it is so important to the Chinese, or what it was used for in the past? Find out in this workshop!

Join Cultural Keys on December 2nd for a unique event – a gourd painting workshop! You’ll learn all about gourds, including why they are so beloved by the Chinese, and then learn how to paint a beautiful design on a dried gourd with an experienced painter!
– Gourd Painting Workshop –
Date: December 2nd 2023
Time: 2.30-5pm
Location: CK Culture Centre, Songzhuang, Tongzhou District
Places: Maximum 10 people per session
Payment: Prepayment via WeChat, AliPay, PayPal (no PayPal account required) or bank transfer. Fapiao available on request.
Price: Adults 288RMB | Kids 8+ 248RMB
Price includes snacks, drinks, introductory presentation and all the required materials.
Event Schedule
3pm: Arrive and welcome
3.10pm: Presentation: Introduction to gourds in Chinese culture
3.30pm: Paint gourds with an experienced painter
5pm: Event concludes

About Cultural Keys’ Workshops
CK Culture Workshops are held at our culture centre in Xiaopu Village, Songzhuang and limited to 10 people, to ensure each attendee gets full attention from the teacher. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary to take part in our workshops. At the end, you will be able to take your creation home with you!
