Spring Festival, also known as Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year, is the main festival in the Chinese calendar. It is traditionally 15 days long with celebrations starting on the last day of the lunar calendar (Spring Festival Eve, January 21st 2023) and ending with the Lantern Festival (February 5th 2023). NEWS: Re-emphasis by the Chinese government on the importance of cultural education in schools

In response to online discussion about further promoting traditional Chinese culture in the classroom, the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) recently said that education about traditional Chinese culture and cultural confidence is and always has been a high priority for the ministry. New curriculum standards show how foreign language learning can support this.

CK Explores… Guizhou Province

This August CK was lucky enough to visit Guizhou, a province in China’s southwest that isn’t on the more well-known tourist trails. Guizhou is mountainous and heavily forested, leading to its reputation for clean air, and the development of its many minority groups.
