Want to get out of Beijing and travel to a new city for a weekend of culture, history, great food and interesting sights? Join Cultural Keys for a fantastic two-day photo walk to Tianjin, Beijing’s under-appreciated neighbour! Only 30 minutes away, this city has a lot going for it – riverside walks, European architecture and delicious food!
On this overnight trip, we want to show you even more of Tianjin in the hope that you might come back another time to explore the city fully! Along the way, our guide will introduce the history of the city, its traditional crafts and foods, its most famous locations and of course, show you great places to take photos!
What is a photo walk?
A Cultural Keys Photo Walk & Talk is an opportunity to be guided to the best spots to take photos whilst also finding out something about them with a native speaking English guide. How do they differ from CK Heritage Walks? The emphasis is on a fun, informative and relaxing walk with friends with plenty of time for photos rather than lots of historical information.

Date: Saturday + Sunday May 15th to 16th
Location: Meeting at Beijing South Railway Station
Leaving Beijing: Saturday 9am
Arriving Back Beijing: Sunday 6pm
Price: 888RMB per person | 1488RMB for 2 people
Availability: Max. 12 people | Everyone 12+ years old is welcome to join

Transportation: 150RMB
Accommodation: 200RMB
Food: 150RMB
Cultural Keys’ Staff Costs: 100RMB
Entrance Tickets: 65RMB
The price includes train travel between Beijing and Tianjin, shared accomodation at the Ibis Ancient Culture Street, four meals, guided excursions around Tianjin and entrance tickets.
Itinerary
Day 1
9:00am – Meet at Beijing South Railway Station
9:45am – Board train
10:15am – Arrive Tianjin
10:30am – Walk along the Hai River
11:00am – Walk through the Italian Concession
12:00pm – Go for lunch
1:30pm – Walk to Ibis and drop off bags
2:30pm – Walk to Ancient Culture Street and Tian Hou Temple
5:30pm – Dinner
6:30pm – Walk back down the Hai River (evening photoshoot)
8:00pm – Day ends
Day 2
7:30am – Breakfast in hotel (Chinese style buffet)
9am – Walk to Dabei Temple
11am – Check out from Hotel
12pm – Lunch
1:30pm – Transportation to the Porcelain House
2:00pm – Porcelain House & Central Park
4:30pm – Walk to train station
5pm – Arrive train station
6pm – Board train
6:30pm – Arrive Beijing
All times are approximate.
A lot of walking will be done during this event, both before we check in and after we check out of the hotel, so remember to only bring what you can carry!
This is a photo walk but no experience with photography is required. All types of camera welcome! We also welcome families with children 12+. Our guide is a native-English speaker, so the walk will be 100% in English. Already in Tianjin? Let us know when booking and we can cut the price of the hotel and train tickets!
