Workshop: Traditional Chinese Calligraphy
Want to experience one of the cultural treasures of China? Join Cultural Keys for a fascinating calligraphy workshop!
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the history, tools and techniques used in calligraphy, practice characters, and finally write a phrase to take home, under the guidance of an expert Chinese calligrapher.
Join Cultural Keys on May 13th to write your own piece of calligraphy! In this workshop, you’ll learn the essential things to know about this ancient art form. Then with the guidance of an expert calligrapher, you’ll practice some characters before learning to write an auspicious phrase that you can take home with you.
– Calligraphy Workshop –
Date: May 13th 2023
Time: 3-6pm
Location: CK Culture Centre, Songzhuang, Tongzhou District
Places: Maximum 10 people per session
Payment: Prepayment via WeChat, AliPay, PayPal (no PayPal account required) or bank transfer. Fapiao available on request.
Price: Adults 288RMB; children 258RMB.
Price includes snacks, drinks, introductory presentation and all the required materials.
Event Schedule
3pm: Arrive and welcome
3.10pm: Presentation: Introduction to Chinese calligraphy
4pm: Calligraphy workshop, including learning how to use the calligraphy brush, basic strokes, character practice, practicing an auspicious phrase, and finally writing your phrase on traditional xuan paper.
6pm: Event concludes

About Cultural Keys’ Workshops
CK Culture Workshops are held at our culture centre in Xiaopu Village, Songzhuang and limited to 10 people, to ensure each attendee gets full attention from the teacher. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary to take part in our workshops. At the end, you will be able to take your creation home with you!
