Workshop: Gourd Painting

It’s just a vegetable, you might think. But think again. In traditional Chinese culture, the humble bottle gourd (aka calabash) was and is so much more!

Cultural Keys has a unique event coming up in November –  a gourd painting workshop! You’ll learn all about gourds, including why they are so beloved by the Chinese, and then learn how to paint a beautiful design on a dried gourd with an experienced painter! You might like to paint a large gourd as a display piece or several small gourds to hang on the Christmas tree! This would also make a great Christmas present!
