Our favourite sights from around Tianjin

Just thirty minutes outside of Beijing by express train, Tianjin showcases beautiful locations and architecture from a wide swathe of Chinese history. Go from the Confucian temple to grand European streets to river walks all within minutes in Tianjin.

We personally have been to Tianjin several times, and each time we go, we find something new to enjoy. For your pleasure, here are a few of our favourite shots from my last few visits that will perhaps inspire you to go there for yourself if you haven’t already!

Taichi, Shaolin and Lion Dancing with CK in April!

How many different styles of Chinese martial arts can you name? Taichi? Of course. Shaolin? Goes without saying. What about lion dancing? Sure, it’s well-known! (Yes, if you didn’t know, the acrobatic displays you see at Chinese New Year celebrations are in fact intrinsically connected to the history and practice of traditional Chinese martial arts.)

Need more oxen in your life? Enjoy Lunar New Year-inspired art at NAMOC!

The National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) is holding an exhibition to celebrate Spring Festival. Alongside paintings, sculptures and paper cuttings of oxen, you can also appreciate paintings on the theme of spring and vitality by both Chinese and international artists including Ansel Adams, David Hockney and Qi Baishi.
