Cultural Keys’ ‘China News’ Interview: The Video!

As you may have read in our recent article, CK was interviewed in March by Wen Meng Xin of China News for a feature on our company and what we do. Some volunteers kindly joined us for the event. The video is now out! Read on to watch the interview.

Mancy filmed AJ practicing taichi in the park, then joined us for calligraphy and painting workshops at the culture centre.

During the calligraphy workshop, volunteers were taught the phrase “心想事成“, and during the painting workshop, volunteers painted bamboo, a typical Chinese painting subject and a symbol of an upstanding gentleman in ancient China. Both subjects were expertly taught by Mr. Li Kaiping.

Ross, one of the volunteers who joined us for the event said that calligraphy and painting were very challenging, and that’s a comment we often hear after one of our workshops – what looks quite simple and straightforward (painting bamboo for example) is actually complex with many steps to consider. Much like learning about the intricacies of Chinese culture!

See the video below.

Many thanks to Wen Meng Xin and our volunteers, Ross, Abbey and Paul!
