What kind of activities can Cultural Keys offer you, your friends, students or staff?

We have all seen a lot of changes this year. While there have been a lot of difficulties, and a lot of challenges, we must still try our best to look towards the future, both as individuals, communities or as companies. With that in mind, we wanted to let you know what we as a company can offer you, through our events and activities, to help you start making plans and look forward to the coming weeks and months ahead!

Want to know more? Read on to find out what Cultural Keys can offer you, your friends, students or staff, no matter if you’ve just arrived or are looking for help getting back to some sense of normalcy and enjoying the cultural treasures of China!

Traditional Chinese arts and crafts workshops

By far our most popular activity, our private workshops can be booked for groups anywhere between 2 and 8 people, and are held at either our culture centre in Songzhuang Art District in the east of Beijing, or at a location convenient for you and your group.

We offer experiences in a large variety of subjects, including traditional Chinese calligraphy, painting, paper cutting and sugar art, all taught by experts (through translators) and including English-language presentations on the history of each art form. These are the best way to enjoy traditional cultural activities – don’t just learn more about China, its culture and history, but actually experience it for yourself.

Chinese martial arts classes

Prior to the start of the epidemic, Cultural Keys was in the midst of expanding our Shaolin kung fu and Yang Style Taichi workshops into regular weekly classes. Unfortunately, those plans had to be delayed. But we are pleased to say that things are back on track, with two new programs set to launch in late October!

In the meantime, if your group would like to book a private workshop, from 1 to 3 hours in a location convenient for you, we are currently taking bookings. Both slow, ‘internal’ taichi and vigorous ‘external’ Shaolin workshops are available, and are suitable from groups from 4 to 20!

Team Building Activities

Cultural Keys’ Team Building Experiences are the perfect way to not only bring your team or group together, but to do so through a variety of traditional Chinese culture activities.

Whether you are looking to develop team spirit, reward hard work and creativity, or simply increase the workplace value for your existing or incoming new staff, our activities will prove a big hit and won’t fail to improve group morale and overall good spirits, while giving your team valuable hands-on experiences in traditional Chinese culture.  Choose from a variety of activities such as Beijing Opera workshops, lion dancing classes, kung fu workouts or a full day cultural round-robin (several different activities spread across several tables, with groups split into smaller groups and rotating between tables).

Presentations (in person or online)

While Cultural Keys sincerely believes in doing more than simply seeing, sometimes words presented in the right way can be just as impactful. And we do love talking about Chinese culture!

From broad subjects such as Chinese festivals and traditional arts and crafts, to more niche topics such as the history of Chinese gardens or the Shaolin Temple, we can give presentations that will appeal to your group, no matter what size or area of interest.

Plus, new for fall 2020, we are pleased to announce a new presentation: Beijing Life and Living. Covering a variety of topics on the practicalities of living in Beijing, from essential apps to transportation tips,  this presentation is the perfect way to introduce the city to your new staff, members or students. This presentation is free for embassies!
